"The Levites . . . instructed the people in the Torah while the people were standing there. They read from the Book of the Torah of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read." (Neh 8:7-8)
On blogging etiquette, try to remember: "For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted" (Luke 14:11). "Outdo one another in showing honor" (Romans 12:10).

30-31 seconds in. What?!

Do you mean the “we praise the big guy up in the sky” line? I do think that’s probably the worst line in the whole song. It’s not very creative and I’m not sure Mennonites (in reality or stereotypically) think of God as a “big guy” in the “sky”. Oh well. Is that what you were thinking, Doug?

Wow. Okay, so apparently there really is a kind of music Mennonites can’t pull off! Just promise me that you’re not going on tour with Matisyahu. Because I’m pretty sure that’s mentioned somewhere in the end-of-the-world prophesies. Or should be.
Peace!

I really loved it. My husband and two teenagers were all watching, our daughter knew the real words. DH thinks it was funny.

I am guessing that the face in the lap at 30 seconds is really a foot washing occuring and a poor camera angle to pick that up. Too bad..foot washing is something that not many churches still do, but yet it is a powerful experience.
