It&#039;s not like the NIV itself hadn&#039;t ever been updated before (it did, apparently, stop at around 1984, though.  In theory, the TNIV should have just been the new, innocuously released, NIV in the first place.  Perhaps a lot of this controversy might have been avoided then).</description>
